New Hall porcelain coffee cup and saucer with floral design and pink trim, pattern no 461 c 1810.

Shelton, Hanley.   New Hall was one of the first porcelain works in the UK and here during the period 1781-1812 examples of experimental hard paste porcelain ware were made: all of the New Hall examples in this collection belong to this period.  It was only after 1812 that the works began to produce the classic English bone china.
